How much does it cost for specialist prosthodontic treatment?
Thank you for your interest and enquiry of professional fees for prosthodontics at NorthShore Oral and Maxillo-facial Surgeons (NSOMS). As there are many different options for dentures, crowns/bridges or implants at specialist level, you first really need a prosthodontic consultation. After the consultation, patients are provided with a written confirmation letter detailing their dental problem list, professional fees, payment terms and limitations of the treatment.
If still interested to have a consultation, you can telephone our NSOMS Reception on 09 486 777. However, should you be rather interested in a lower standard of care and lower fees, you should contact one of the local dentists or clinical dental technicians (dental laboratories).
Prosthodontic Fees
The fees reflect the professional time involved to assess, plan, discuss and carry out specialist level treatment using highest quality materials and equipment. Fees displayed are “from” meaning that this is lowest potential price for dentures, crowns/bridges or implant crowns/bridges. Until we assess a patient, we do not know what their treatment may involve and cannot quote accurately.
Treatment could range from simply replacing a denture, crown or implant crown for 1 or 2 teeth in an un-compromised mouth to a dentures, crowns or implant crowns/bridges replacing many teeth in a mouth with complex anatomy which is technically difficult to produce. Complex prosthodontic treatment can take 15+ hours of treatment at our practice as well as 20+ hours of technical time for either Taka, Jasu, Shin, Hiko, Jerry or CJ (my dental technicians) to make the totally customized dentures, crowns/bridges or implant crowns / bridges.
Carrying out this treatment to the highest standard, giving the best cosmetic and functional results requires considerable clinical and dental laboratory time and the use of expensive materials and components.
